THE LOCATION…This community claims the corner of two quiet residential streets – Ulysses Street and West Twelfth Avenue. Many amenities are within walking distance, including several churches, a shopping area, and access to public transportation.

THE BUILDINGS…The Ulysses Senior Housing Community is a  collection of six buildings on 2½ acres.  Each structure contains four residences, for a total of just 24 homes.  The buildings are designed to echo the residences of historic Golden while utilizing materials that will provide a low-maintenance exterior for years to come.  The warmth of brick combines with stucco to accent the low graceful rooflines of this carefully detailed architecture.  Front porches provide a private outdoor space, and gracefully line the street and the quiet pedestrian court.

THE HOMES…The concept behind the design of each residence is to provide a home where active seniors can downsize their home without sacrificing the spaces that are used every day.  The three different floor plans range from 1,588 to 1,638 square feet, and this area is used to its fullest potential.  Every home has a generous living room with vaulted ceilings and an integral dining area.  The kitchen opens to the living space, and is also adjacent to the laundry room and a two-car attached garage.  The main-floor master bedroom suite is one key to making the homes handicap accessible.

While all the spaces an empty nest should have are located on the ground floor, there is also a cozy upper floor that provides an open study area, a second bedroom and separate bathroom.
