Red Rocks Residence
-
Through careful placement of the home and sculpting of spaces, the views are captured from inside the home. The south exposure is maximized with a greenhouse, patio, gazebo, and play yard which all flow gracefully from the interior living spaces (a hallmark of our designs).
The grand interior living and dining space is capped with exposed wood structure, while open to the kitchen which is nestled under the second floor. The main floor master is perfectly positioned to feel secluded yet connected to the greenhouse and the back yard, with an office and guest bedroom completing this level. The upper floor provides two bedrooms, a loft overlooking the grand living room, and a cozy media room.
The tuck-under garage eliminates wasted space in the basement and downplays this often-overemphasized necessity. The stair connects all floors through an expressed tower that provides glimpses of the city view as you ascend through the house. And should this young family need more accessibility in the future, carefully framed and stacked storage closets are ready to relinquish their space to provide space for an elevator.
This is truly a home for all ages – a home that this family, and any future families, will enjoy for generations to come.
Sustainability: All-electric systems, air-source heat pump central system using horizontal ducted units for each floor, heat pump water heater, continuous exterior rigid insulation, photovoltaic panels on roof.
